CALLOUS ATTITUDE

According to the latest reports coming from Jammu, the family of infected doctor of Jammu Medical College was forced to come on social media even as they also tested positive of Covid -19 virus. Top brass of hospital administration in Jammu first tried to hide the fact that infected doctor was on the frontline of taking tests of Covid-19 patients in Jammu.
His family members including his servant were quarantined and were kept at an isolatated place. When they tested positive, even the hospital authorities did not come to their rescue when finally his wife who is also a doctor through a video uploaded on social media appealed for help, finally an ambulance was sent to fetch them to the hospital.
As the doctor tested positive, doctors, nurses and other paramedics appealed authorities to provide them with proper protection gears including PVC coated gowns. The infected doctor was not given personal protection gears, resulting in spread of infection not only to his own self but to his entire family.
Administration has been behaving in an arrogant manner and not trying to understand the problems being faced by doctors and other paramedics in the Covid declared hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. Administration instead of issuing warning to the doctors, should immediately provide them with proper protection gears so that they are saved from the Covid-19 infection.
Higher ups in the administration instead of only issuing statements, should visit the hospitals and get the required feedback from doctors and paramedics so that proper arrangements could be made in the wake of growing positive cases of Covid-19.
