Facilitate travel of all those who complete quarantine period: Congress

Srinagar, April 05 (KNS): Congress has said that those who have completed their normal period of quarantine at different places in and outside J and K should be facilitated to their respective locations and there should not be any pick and choose of privileged ones.
In a statement issued to KNS chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that there are different locations, both inside and outside, where people were quarantined, simply for being in travel and transit, without any symptoms of the disease. Most of these people have been completing the period of quarantine, time to time. The government should make arrangements to shift such persons to their respective locations and native places immediately. There should not be any pick and choose basis in the system and moreover they have right to unite with their families or nearby them, of course as per medical advise, after completing their quarantine period.

Sharma also questioned the delay in disbursement of various kinds of relief measures for the poor including free ration and pensions to different eligible categories like old age, widows, PHC and other such benefits like Jan dhan account holders etc.

Most of these announcements are yet not executed while people are in lockdown for more than two weeks. The targeted population needs these benefits and assistance immediately without delay.

Congress also demanded immediate release of atleast three months advance wages to the daily wagers, need based workers in PHE, irrigation, F C and different other govt and semi govt departments, as their financial situation is very bad in view of irregular payment of wages to these people.

Congress also expressed its concerns over the disengagement of the skilled health workers in GMC Rajouri, Kathua and some other health institutions where they were working on temporary basis. Reiterating the demand to engage unemployed trained health workers of different categories as well as doctors, if the govt is taking services of retired personnel . He said in view of current pandemic, those already working should be continued to meet any possible situations as their services should be utilized.(KNS).
