‘Sanitise LPG refills, use 8 hours after delivery’

After an initial reluctance amid the Covid threat, home delivery of LPG cylinders has picked up in the Valley. The distributors have, however, urged the customers to be in touch with them through SMS and sanitise cylinders after they are delivered.

“Initially, people deployed to do home deliveries were reluctant, fearing that they may get infected. However, now deliveries are in full swing as we have provided them masks and sanitisers. We urge our customers to be in direct touch with us through SMS for smooth deliveries,” said Jagmohan Singh Raina, general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Gas Dealers Association (JKGDA).

“Though cylinders are being sanitised at filling stations, many hands touch the same during transportation and deliveries. Therefore, customers should sanitise the cylinders after delivery. Preferably, it should be kept outside the house for at least eight to 10 hours before use,” Raina added. —TNS
