Sigh of relief as Jammu patients’ families test -ve

Amid the surge in coronavirus positive cases, the Jammu region presented an encouraging picture as during the past 24 hours, not even a single case has been reported. Furthermore, family members of patients who tested positive on Saturday and Sunday have also tested negative. Also, six patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Authorities lifted sealing of Lower Roop Nagar and some parts of Muthi after family members of a positive patient from the area tested negative on Monday.

A 46-year-old male, originally a resident of Ramnagar in Udhampur district and presently residing at EWS Colony in Lower Roop Nagar, had tested positive on Sunday after remaining hospitalised at ASCOMS, Sidhra, since April 5. He was initially under treatment of liver-related ailments.

Authorities heaved a sigh of relief after a newborn and husband of the woman who tested positive within hours of delivering the baby on Saturday tested negative. The woman, however, tested positive in the second test also. All staff members of the labour room of SMGS Hospital, where she delivered the baby, have also tested negative. The wife of an Army Jawan, who was positive, has also tested negative.
