PM announces ₹20 lakh crore economic package amid Covid-19 crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the nation on Tuesday evening. The focus is on the Covid-19 situation in the country. It is his fourth address to the nation since mid-March.

Russia has emerged as a new hub of infections in Europe. US President Donald Trump said the US has ‘prevailed’ over the pandemic as deaths crossed 80,000, later clarifying he said in context of the number of tests done. Recovery rates across the world are around 35% as more than 12 lakh people have recovered. As India readies to reopen, cases have reached 70,756 with 2,293 deaths.
