COVID TESTS

Covid tests have come under media focus after the recent controversial tests of many people conducted by Covid hospital of Srinagar known as Chest Disease Hospital of Dalgate. Earlier also many people complained to media that they were shown positive to Covid-19 by this hospital and when they conducted the same tests in other government hospital like SKIMS Soura they tested negative to Covid infection.

Most recent is the case of media persons connected with New Delhi based media channel. They were all show positive to Covid-19 infection by Chest Disease of Srinagar lab and when they repeated the same tests at SKIMS Soura their tests of Covid-19 came negative.

This controversial testing of media people has brought the fresh focus on the efficiency of testing labs in Kashmir valley as majority of the tests of Covid-19 have been conducted at C.D Hospital lab of Srinagar and all those people who were forced to go for administrative quarantine have now started doubting the entire exercise.

These families in Kashmir faced social stigma after coming back from the administrative quarantine and if this is the efficiency of testing lab of the main Covid hospital, these families have genuine doubts about their quarantine and the tests.

Such doubtful tests have also focus on the allegations of common people that corona virus, testing quarantine and hiring of hotels etc. has become a business for some government official. Earlier it was dismissed as a wild allegation against the administration but now it carries wait because the entire testing method and mechanism has under cloud.
