The UT administration has finally decided to roll back SRO 2020 after all the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir barring BJP requested Lt. Governor Murmu to do so that thousands of unemployed youth could get the jobs in various government departments.

In a major administrative decision, the Jammu and Kashmir Government recently decided not to conduct any fresh recruitment under the controversial Statutory Rules and Order (SRO)-202 which was introduced by the PDP-BJP government in 2015.

The SRO-202 was issued by the PDP-BJP government under the chief ministership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on June 30, 2015, making it mandatory for the newly recruited employees to undergo probation for a five-year period on a paltry sum compared to the salaries and perks of their counterparts recruited before the issuance of the SRO.

This decision was taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Government decided not to conduct any fresh recruitment under the controversial Statutory Rules and Order (SRO)-202 which was introduced by the PDP-BJP government in 2015.

The decision in this regard was taken during the Administrative Council (AC) meeting chaired by Lieutenant-Governor GC Murmu held at Raj Bhavan, after many delegations of political parties met him earlier and appealed to him not to do the recruitment under this SRO.

All though it was PDP-BJP coalition government which was responsible for this SRO but PDP was also demanding roll back including many of its former minister who has now formed a new political party known as Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party.
