Jammu & Kashmir reports 2 deaths and 148 COVID-19 positive cases; toll at 87

Jammu and Kashmir reported two deaths and 148 COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the Union Territory’s death toll to 87.

With 148 infections, Jammu and Kashmir’s tally stands at 6,236.

Both COVID-19 deaths surfaced from Kashmir—one each from Srinagar and Kulgam districts.

Out of 87 COVID-19 deaths in the state, 77 were reported from Kashmir.

“In UT of J&K, 148 new positive cases have been reported, since our last update yesterday which includes 20 from Jammu and 128 from Kashmir. Also, two COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir,” read the medical bulletin.

At least, 111 COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of J&K, reads the bulletin.

Among the positive cases, 25 are travellers and seven are pregnant women, officials said.

Kashmir reported 4,840 cases while as Jammu recorded 1,396.
