South Kashmir attack leaves trooper, boy dead

 

Anantnag, June 26, KNT: A trooper and a boy were killed after suspected militants attacked a road opening party here in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag town.

Police sources told news agency KNT that militants fired upon a Patrolling Party of 90 Battalion CRPF G-Coy at Padshahi Bagh Bijbehara resulting injuries of trooper and a boy.

Both were shifted to Bijbehara hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. The trooper had bullet injuries in head and abdomen while boy had received bullet in his chest.

A police official while confirming these two casualties identified the trooper as Shambu Lal Kumar and the boy is Nehan Ahmed Bhat son of Muhammad Yasin of Machoo Kulgam.

The area was cordoned off after the attack while militants after carrying out the attack escaped from the spot. (KNT)
