PARENTS V/S SCHOOLS

 PARENTS V/S SCHOOLS

Parents have been at loggerheads with private schools owners regarding the fee and other such matters while the schools continue to remain closed due to Covid-19 lockdown. Parents have appealed UT administration to intervene and alleged that owners of private schools have no appreciation of the situation prevailing in Kashmir valley and are demanding fee from the parents despite the fact that they have failed to conduct any classroom or extra curricular activity in their educational institutions from the past one year.

Parents have said that already private schools have forced them to deposit fee for the period in which there was a government clampdown post August 5, last year and wanted this fee to be given back to the parents because they were badly hit on the financial front due to the disruption of life for more than a year now.

Similarly during the Covid-19 lockdown which is still in force for the schools and other educational institutions, parents have said that they were being pressurized by the schools authorities to deposit fees and the UT administration was looking the other way without intervening in such a sensitive matter.

While the parents want all fee back, private schools association recently told the media that they were ready to give 100 waivers to those parents who were financially hit by the lockdown and not to those parents who are government employees who are such traders who are doing their business.

In such a situation it is the duty of the UT administration to intervene and force the private school owners to implement all the government orders passed by them in the past several months to be implemented in sequence including some court orders.
