According to the media reports, it is now 13th running month that Kashmir valley is without any normal business as now the lockdown of Covid-19 is going on from the past five months. Administration in UT of Jammu and Kashmir has come under sharp criticism from all the stakeholders including dozens of trade bodies and they blamed the government for deliberately bringing economic depression in Kashmir valley under the cover of Covid.
These trade bodies have blamed the government for the five months long Covid-19 lockdown, imposed in Kashmir valley without applying any foresight or wisdom.
The Kashmir Trade Alliance said that their estimates of the losses only because of Covid-19 lockdown are to the tune of 20 thousand crores. Their data has brought question marks on the foresight and wisdom of bureaucrats handling Kashmir as they have been only re-imposing lockdown after a few days of relaxation.
