SETTING THE AGENDA

Recently Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid a surprise visit to the Civil Secretariat in the early hours of the day and inspected various Administrative sections.

The Lt Governor went from door to door and inspected various sections & complexes of the Civil Secretariat and took stock of the working in the offices of various departments.

Taking serious note of the absence of Officers’/ Officials, he observed that the UT Government is committed towards effective delivery of public services with special focus on improving service delivery mechanism and timely disposal of public grievances and such unprofessional attitude will not be tolerated. He asked the officers and staff working there to adopt a professional work culture while giving much importance to the punctuality.

Lt. Governor has made it clear that he will not tolerate lax attitude of officers to run the administration and has warned such officers that action would be taken under rule if they will not mend their rules.

He has already instructed senior bureaucrats to improve the public grievance redressal mechanism on modern lines and not go by the old methods as during various interactions with public delegations, he came to know that common people have to wait for months and come to the offices for days together for such works which are just a click away from such officials.

He has given a surprise visit to the civil secretariat only to convey to the administration that he will not tolerate any discipline and will like to see more transparency and promptness in the bureaucracy to address public issues.
