Dr. Farooq Abdullah on the death anniversary of his Late father blamed BJP, RSS and other communal forces for the present mess not only in Kashmir but in the rest of the country. He said that such communal behavior by the political parties will not bring any change on the ground but such forces would be consumed by the communal poison.
Recently, the government allowed the National Conference to conduct its first political affairs committee meeting, giving hopes to other parties like PDP and PC led by Sajad Gani Lone that they can conduct similar meetings in the near future.
While PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is still under detention, her daughter on twitter claimed that their party was being discriminated against. In a series of tweets, she said that PDP was being targeted by the J&K administration and said, “Why are these people being detained unlawfully. Under what law is their detention justified?”
BJP has kept a lot of curbs on the mainstream political parties in Kashmir valley and even the National Conference leaders were able to hold their first meeting recently after the authorities told J&K High Court that none of these were under detention and they were free to move anywhere.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah were released by the authorities in March this year and allowed them to hold consultations with senior party leaders in the recent past. Farooq Abdullah recently told media that BJP and RSS were trying to convert the Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir into a Hindu majority area.
