Poonch hots up on Monday

Pakistani troops started intense shelling in forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir”s Poonch district, prompting strong retaliation by the Indian Army,

Reports from Poonch said that shelling was going on and the residents living in the forward areas were under fear that if the shelling will not stop they would be forced by the circumstances to migrate.

Being a harvesting season, the villagers in Poonch and Rajouri areas are facing lot of difficulties to go for harvesting as in the past 2 weeks there has been intense shelling in many areas all along the LoC.

According to the recent report published in the media there has been highest number of cross border shelling violations, recorded in the past 17 years.

Residents living all along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts have been at the receiving end of the situation and many of them were killed and dozens injured in current year due to these cross border shelling incidents.
