NEW FINANCIAL PACKAGE

NEW FINANCIAL PACKAGE

While announcing the new package for Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that it is a beginning and he will help the business community by all means to come out from the present circumstances.

He said that the central government is also very keen to help the business establishments in Jammu and Kashmir as this union territory has witnessed complete disruption of life in the past 14 months. First it was clamped down by the central government by moving paramilitary troops into Kashmir after the abrogation of article 370 and then it was followed by lockdown due to a pandemic which really crippled economy here.

Many sectors suffered massively due to the clampdown and lockdown and most of them along with their families have no means of income to survive.

Among those who are struggling to survive include shikara wallas, pony wallas and those drivers who were running their cabs at the tourist taxi stands of Kashmir.

Government has said that very soon they will come out with a separate package for the tourism and transport industry in Jammu and Kashmir in order to help these people to get back their livelihood and also to show them the way of how to restart their lives.

In such circumstances, more financial interventions from the central government in the coming months will really help many sectors as they have been on the edge due to no business in the past 14 months.
