Ladakh after assurances

After meeting with the Union Home Minister at New Delhi on various political parties who were for the boycott of the coming LAHDC elections, have decided to withdraw the call of boycott.

While the central leadership of BJP in Leh is busy to prepare for 6th general Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) election to be held in the month of October, most of the political forces along with all student bodies and civil society groups have come under one banner to boycott these polls unless the central government does not pass laws for the protection of their land and jobs for the youth.

When they met the central leadership of BJP at New Delhi they were assured that they would get all the safeguards for jobs, land etc. on the pattern of article 370 or like the Bodo land tribal powers.

The central government has also assured the angry leadership of Ladakh that they are looking for giving more powers to the Leh and Kargil hill development councils as it is one of demands of them that they should get more powers so that they can make their own laws.

Recently in a huge political development, the man who was the real face of BJP and introduced the party in every corner of Ladakh Tupstan Chewan recently was made head of an apex body of all religious heads, and student’s bodies and they put forth demand for sixth schedule to protect the regions’ jobs, rights, land, environment, and rich culture and to prevent mass migration.
