Central Kashmir: Gunfight rages in Mouchwa area of Budgam

Encounter rages between militants and government forces in Mouchwa area of Budgam district on Tuesday evening.

Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Srinagar Police, Budgam Police and army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Mouchwa.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.

A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.

As per the sources two JeM militants believed to be trapped.

Pertinently, this is second encounter of this week, yesterday one militant was killed, while another surrendered in South Kashmir’s Tral.(GNS)
