Both Former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah have reacted on similar lines over the recent amendments to the land laws in Jammu and Kashmir.

Both of them have said that the central government has kept Jammu and Kashmir up for sale and said that such designs of the central government will meet resistance from the people.

Omar Abdullah in his tweet said, “Unacceptable amendments to the land ownership laws of J&K. Even the tokenism of domicile has been done away with when purchasing non-agricultural land & transfer of agricultural land has been made easier. J&K is now up for sale & the poorer small land holding owners will suffer”.

Mehbooba Mufti has described the new land laws as nefarious designs of the Government of India and has asked the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir to understand the game plan of Delhi and give a united fight against such designs.

Mehbooba Mufti in her tweet said, “Yet another step that is part of GOI’s nefarious designs to disempower & disenfranchise people of J&K. From the unconstitutional scrapping of Article 370 to facilitating loot of our natural resources & finally putting land in J&K up for sale”.
