Political churn

There are widespread fears among the people of Jammu and Kashmir and these fears have travelled to Ladakh region also due to the recent amendments in land laws of Jammu and Kashmir, triggering panic in common people who are desperate to save their land holdings and have now doubts about the jobs to the youth of erstwhile J&K State.

In Kashmir all the mainstream political parties especially Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah said that ugly face of BJP is visible as they have kept the entire Jammu and Kashmir up for sale. All of these political parties have said that they will give street resistance to such laws and would be opposed at all fronts. JK Apni Party which was called in some media circles as King’s Party has also come in open against these amendments in the land laws and has said that these laws were unacceptable.

Kashmiri leadership has not only reacted but they have decided to outreach programmes to the erstwhile regions of Jammu and Ladakh. In this connection Omar Abdullah led delegation of People’s alliance for Gupkar declaration visited Kargil and held talks with their leadership and also contacted the people in order to get the feedback of how they want to proceed ahead in the resistance started by Srinagar.

In Jammu also National Conference, PDP and JKNPP and now the Congress held public protests against the land amendments and said that their land would be taken over by the rich people and industrialists. People of Jammu feel that they are more vulnerable then Kashmir valley as these amendments will keep their interests in jeopardy including the jobs for youth.
