Anganwadi workers stages protest, demand release of salary, hike in honorarium

Anganwadi workers and helpers from various districts staged protest here on Wednesday demanding release of salaries and enhancement in their honorarium.

Scores of Anganwadi workers and helpers, under the banner of J&K Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association Kashmir, assembled at Press Colony amid anti-government slogans demanding enhancement in their honorarium, regularization while they also alleged that they have not received any salary from couple of months.
“We have not received even a penny from the government, there are many widowed female workers who are the only support of their families but still government is paying no heed to our demands”, the protesters told KNT.
They said that they are receiving very low honorarium as compared to the other states. (KNT)
