The coming DDC election has generated a lot of heat on the political turf of Jammu and Kashmir with the participation of PAGD in it. The united fight to be given by most of the mainstream political parties of Kashmir have posed a challenge to BJP and JK Apni party who had presumed that they will boycott the election.

The JK Apni party has already welcomed the decision of PAGD to participate in the DDC election and has described it as a step in the right direction. Congress of late after playing hides and seeks has decided to come out from shadows and have formally joined PAGD.

Two senior Congress leaders participated in PAGD meeting at the residence of Mehbooba Mufti and conveyed to the media that they were the part of amalgam and will jointly contest the coming DDC elections.

Recently PAGD has finalized the list of the candidates for the first phase of the elections and have held a lot of deliberations to finalize the candidates for the rest of the phases of these elections.

As the election commissioner has decided to hold DDC elections and by election of panchayat in a staggered manner in 8 phases starting from November 28.

These elections have generated a lot of political heat and have given the media a lot of stories about these elections as after the recent amendments, it is for the first time such local elections are being held for District Development Councils in Jammu and Kashmir.
