Two Women Injured In Cross LoC Firing

SRINAGAR: Two women were injured after the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu, officials said on Saturday.

They said that Pakistan army resorted to firing and mortar shelling in Degwar, Malti and Dallan, leading to the injuries to two women.

Identified as Mansha Bi (18) daughter of Shamas Din and Sakina Bi (40) wife of Nazam Din, both residents of Bagial-Dara village, the women were shifted to District hospital Poonch. They said that army responded befittingly.

“Pakistan army violated ceasefire by targeting civilians in Poonch at about 1815 hours.  The Pakistan army used small arms and intense shelling with Mortars along LoC in Degwar, Malti and Dallan areas in Poonch,” they said, adding, “Army retaliated befittingly.”

SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral confirmed to news agency GNS the injuries to the woman.
