The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently arrested PDP youth leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, after he was questioned for several days at New Delhi regarding his connections with Hizbul Mujahideen and with the suspended DySP Devender Singh.
PDP has not only questioned the timing of his arrest as he got the summons from NIA in the evening of the same day when he filed the nomination papers for the coming DDC elections.
Mehbooba Mufti has described it as a witch hunt against the political leadership of PAGD especially her party PDP so that they fall in line with directives of central government.
Earlier also Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra was questioned by NIA but he was not arrested. He is the youth wing head of PDP and has been very active in the present selection of candidates and also to create a fresh network of workers in South Kashmir for his party.
Already PAGD has been alleging that the central government is using the agencies and some sections of the media to malign them in the public and want to tarnish their image during the coming DDC elections. Mehbooba Mufti has been on the forefront against BJP in Jammu and Kashmir soon after she was released from the 14 months of arrest. Soon after coming out she gave controversial statements including about tricolor and said that BJP should now forget that the leadership of Kashmir could be silenced by any force.
She even said that she was ready to go back to the jail but the fight for the identity of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be stopped now by the BJP leadership.
