After the shootout

During the day time a vehicle some unknown militants came and fired upon army patrol killing two of them on spot and managed to escape. IGP Kashmir range while briefing media about the incident said that they were assessing the footage of cameras and also collecting the ground intelligence about the incident.

Police Chief claimed that they have first initial leads which suggest that they belong to Jaish outfit and few of them were Pakistani nationals.  Recently BJP questioned police and BSF after the Nagrotra attack. BJP spokesman in Jammu said that why BSF and Police get the underground tunnels after the attacks. He also leveled serious charges of neglect against the forces for allowing militants to infiltrate.

But the sneak attack at HMT on outskirts of Srinagar city has shown that the pattern of attacks has changed and now militants have also a different strategy to keep the security forces chasing them.

IGP Kashmir range has expressed confidence that very soon they will trace these militants and also the people who have helped to carry out this attack. Increase in the attacks is really a matter of concern not only for the security agencies, but also for the mainstream political parties especially BJP. Their recent statement against police and security forces after the Nagrotra attack shows that they have concern for their workers as in this year many of their activists were killed in Bandipora, Anantnag and Budgam.

In the recent past there have been lot of cross border shelling attacks in the North Kashmir and many civilians lost their lives especially in Uri sector. The shelling has damaged even the houses of villagers who are living near the Line of Control (LoC)
