Farmers block key Delhi-Noida route as BJP top brass meets to plan strategy for next round of talks

As farmers opened new fronts for their agitation on Wednesday, the BJP top brass held a meeting to discuss the matter.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal are engaed in brainstorming with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the strategy for the next round of talks with farmer leaders on Thursday.

Punjab BJP leaders, including Surjit Kumar Jyani, are also present at the meeting. Farmers also are holding a meeting at Singhu border to formulate their issues in writing.

The farmers protesting against the new farm laws, meanwhile, intensified their sit-in at the Noida-Delhi border on Wednesday, leading to the closure of a key route that connects Uttar Pradesh with the national capital.

The Delhi police have also increased vigil at smaller points leading to Delhi.
