Army trooper dies of cardiac arrest during CASO in south Kashmir

An army trooper died due to cardiac arrest during a cordon-and-search operation in South Kashmir’s Shopian district overnight, officials said on Saturday.

Unnamed officials told a local news agency, Global News Service, that the trooper of 162 Territorial Army was identified as Abdul Majeed of Veer Bejbhera Anantnag. He suffered massive cardiac arrest during the CASO in Chitragam area of Zanipora.

He was immediately rushed to nearby army hospital here where doctors declared him brought dead, the officials told GNS. He was currently posted with army’s 1 RR In Zanapora, the officials added. (GNS)
