Bomb Disposal Squad diffuses ‘explosive substance’ in North Kashmir

Bomb Disposal Squad Friday diffused some explosive substance in North Kashmir’s Baramulla area.

Joint Forces including Police and soldiers from 52 Rashtriya Rifles detected a small iron box that was lying on road side at Pothukha area that falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo Sopore.

Sources told KNT that traffic was immediately suspended and Bomb Disposal Squad was called in to search the iron type box.

They said that an explosive substance was fitted in the box that was accordingly diffused by the BDS without causing any loss.

When contacted, a police official said that the box was destroyed by BDS as a precautionary measure though no explosives or IED were found in the box. He said some documents were recovered from the box.

Police in this regard have registered a case and set investigation into motion. (KNT)
