The former chief minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah in series of tweets has claimed that he has been locked up in his home and other family members were also being detained in the house by the authorities without any reason.

Government of Jammu and Kashmir has not reacted officially to the allegations of Omar Abdullah but police in a tweet have said that all the VIP movement was discouraged in view of the Pulwama attack anniversary.

Omar in one of the tweets said that not only his house but his father in another house and his sister with her children have been put under house arrest.

The anger of Omar Abdullah could be gouged in one of his tweets, “Naya/new J&K” after Aug 2019. We get locked up in our homes with no explanation. It’s bad enough they’ve locked my father (a sitting MP) & me in our home, they’ve locked my sister & her kids in their home as well,” Omar tweeted.

Omar Abdullah has been very balanced in his views post abrogation of article 370, especially after his release from a long spell of detention.

Unlike his father Farooq Abdullah who invited a lot of controversies by talking about China etc, Omar Abdullah has been very cautious while talking about the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.
