JK administration has decided to open upper primary classes from March 8 and the primary classes from March 15 even as DAK in a recent statement has said that the new variant of covid-19 is not being detected by RT-PCR test.

Recently government allowed the schools to reopen and in one of the schools of Srinagar, covid-19 positive cases were reported but even then the educational institutions continue to function and the new direction of the government for the reopening of primary classes has shown that they are not taking the appeals by DAK and by other experts into consideration.

Top officials of the School Education Department told the news agencies that only upper primary schools will reopen on Monday but they have maintained that the primary classes will also reopen on March 15.

Second wave of covid-19 has yet to reach Kashmir valley but there has been an increase in the covid-19 cases in the past several weeks and many of the travelers have been detected with this virus.
