Construction Milestone

In Jammu and Kashmir Northern Railways has achieved a construction milestone by completing the bridge over the River Chenab as the central government has already said that Kashmir would be connected with the main railway link in the current year.

Northern Railways have been working on this bridge for a long time and after lot of hectic efforts, its engineers have connected the two ends of the main arch of the world’s highest bridge on the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district which will provide direct connectivity to Kashmir Valley and has been the main bottleneck for completing the railway line of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the media reports this iconic bridge will soar 359 meters above the bed of the river and will be 30 meters higher than the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.

It would be a completion of a dream for the engineers of Northern Railways as they have been working very hard on its construction and it was not an easy job to be completed.

The completion of this historic milestone was announced to the people by Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal who recently shared the news on Twitter.
