Recently authorities in a high level meeting with the representatives of mutton dealers fixed the rates for the retailers in entire Kashmir valley and asked the butchers to open the shops and end the crisis in Srinagar and other parts and people could not get the meat from the past few months due to the locking of horns between the government and wholesalers of mutton.
Common people were happy that the crisis has come to an end and the shops will open but most of them started selling the meat from their homes at the exorbitant prices and not the rates fixed by the government.
In the past several days government has been sealing the shops who are not adhering to the rates or they are selling at the higher prices the meat to the common people.
Meanwhile KNO in its report said, that the authorities on Saturday sealed three mutton shops for violating the government approved rates in Ranger area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that Naib Tehsildar Nagam today conducted a special drive against mutton sellers and sealed three shops for selling mutton on higher rates.

The drive against such violators will continue,” he said.
