Bold statement

There has been a positive reaction to the recent Indo-Pak bonhomie which started recently with the introduction of mutual ceasefire in the borders.

Most of the political parties have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent tweets and for his letter to Pakistani counterpart wishing well to the neighboring country.

In this connection National Conference Vice-president Omar Abdullah recently said that the thaw between India and Pakistan must move beyond secret talks and join the table for open talks to resolve all issues including Kashmir.

Omar said that it is the stated position of his party’s National Conference that war is not the solution; only a table can solve all the outstanding issues between the two neighboring countries.

He also did not want to go into the controversy and the media reports that how the two countries that were at the brink of war came close to each other in the recent weeks and announced a sudden ceasefire on the borders.

People of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly waiting for the proper composite dialogue between India and Pakistan in the visible manner. This sentiment was expressed by Omar Abdullah also when he said that leadership of both the countries must move beyond secret talks and join the table for an open dialogue.
