J-K govt extends closure of schools

Srinagar: Amid a continuing spike in the reported COVID-19 cases, all schools in the Jammu and Kashmir up to 12th standard shall continue to remain closed for imparting on-campus and in-person education to the students till 18 April, officials said on Sunday.

While schools up to 9th standard were already closed till 18 April, others—10th to 12th—were shut last week till 12 April.

“It is clarified that this order does not prohibit the conduct of any scheduled exam during this period by examination conducting body or institute subject to existing covid-19 norms of adequate social distancing and sanitization,” reads an order member secretary State executive Committee. (GNS)
