Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha in a high-level meeting recently with the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir valley has asked them to be more vigilant and to be more active in the respective districts in order to curb the growing cases of covid-19.

Sinha said that there should be a proper response to the growing cases in every district and the officials must address the issues of the general public arising out of growing covid cases and should ensure there is transparency & accountability in the governance system.

He observed that officers are the face of administration and exhorted them to discharge their duties with utmost sensitivity and responsibility, and put in best efforts to mitigate the problems of the people.

He directed them to hold grievance redressal interaction with people at least three days a week in their respective offices to redress genuine grievances at the earliest.

Such instructions from Manoj Sinha to the administration is a welcome step as there is a general feeling among the common people that they have no one to listen to their grievances and especially in the recent interaction this fact has come to the fore when the Lt. Governor held such public interactions online.

The administration will have to become responsive to the grievances of common people but whether it is police, civil administration wings like accounts, revenue etc. there are piled up cases and the people are forced to go to these offices everyday almost without any results.
