Sunday lockdown announced by Jammu chamber because of growing covid

While the government has asked the traders and markets to go only for 50% of opening so that people come in a staggered manner, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has not only given a new market timing but have decided to go for complete lockdown for the Sunday in order to arrest the growing cases of covid-19.

In the second wave of covid-19 on a daily basis hundreds of people are testing positive in Jammu region and especially the Jammu city is witnessing a steep rise in the cases and it has alarmed the people and the society at large.

Meanwhile KNO in its report about Sunday closure by the Jammu chamber has said, at a time when Lieutenant Governor administration of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered 50 percent opening of markets besides laying out a number of new SOPs amid a surge in Coronavirus cases, Jammu’s Chamber of Commerce has rolled out a new market timing in order to assist the administration in the fight against COVID19.

According to a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the president of Jammu Chamber of Commerce, Arun Gupta said that after meeting with traders’ bodies of various areas of Jammu city, it has been decided that all kinds of business establishments will remain closed on Sunday.

He also said that all kinds of shops in Jammu city will open from 10 am to 7 pm except establishments dealing with eatables and restaurants that shall close at 9 pm.

“This is a crucial time and we all need to extend our best possible cooperation to the government for fighting coronavirus,” Gupta said.
