District authorities of Srinagar are closely monitoring the progress of work in DRDO hospital to be set up at Khonmoh. in this connection recently Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in order to get first hand appraisal of the ongoing work being carried out by Defense Research Development organization (DRDO) for construction of 500 bedded covid hospital visited the spot.
He has also held a series of meetings with the officials so that this hospital is operational as soon as possible. The government has started work on this 500 bedded hospital on war footing and the construction is being done in the double shifts.
According to the media reports this hospital will have 125 ICU beds and 375 oxygen beds for the covid patients. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has already instructed his administration to speed up the pace of the work so that the hospital is operational by the May 30 deadline.
When this covid designated hospital will be ready, it would be a great relief for the people of Kashmir as there is dearth of ICU beds and oxygen beds in various hospitals of Kashmir.
People of Srinagar who are infected with covid-19 need such a hospital as soon as possible as there is shortage of oxygen beds and ICU beds in most of the covid designated hospitals here.
