In a clear message Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has recently told his administration to bring all their resources to action so that pandemic could be fought at the ground level.
He asked all the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir to fix the timelines for the execution of projects like covid care centres at panchayat level so that people can get timely respite from this disease.
He asked his Deputy Commissioners to establish covid care centres in far flung areas on priority and involve Tehsildars, BDOs and other officials in Scale up vaccination; maximize testing for areas with high positivity rate.
While the administration is trying to gear up to meet the situation on the ground, but media reports are pouring in from far flung areas that covid-19 infection is spreading very fast in villages.
According to the recent media reports in Khag area of Budgam there is 30% increase in the covid-19 infection and it was found by the doctors and paramedical staff who went for door to door testing.
Such testing is already going on in many villages of Jammu and Kashmir and the high positivity rate of infection has alarmed not only the villagers but authorities as well.
