Post covid complications at various places have finally culminated in a new black fungus disease which is life threatening for the people of all age groups.

In this connection Jammu and Kashmir government had recently declared it as epidemic and has said in its order said

“In exercise of the powers conferred by sector 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 (Act no 3 of 1897), the Lt Governor of the Union Territory of J&K hereby notified Mucormycosis as an epidemic”.

The UT administration declared it as epidemic after the Union Territory reported its first death due to black fungus on Friday, when a 40-year-old Covid-19 recovered patient died of Mucormycosis at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.

By alone declaring it as epidemic, it will not disappear from Jammu and Kashmir unless the government will not make its treatment available at all the possible health centres of Jammu and Kashmir.

The government will have to side back this epidemic disease, it has taken on war footing to combat covid-19 pandemic.

Unless the authorities will not take this epidemic head on, it would be very difficult for the people to get the required treatment with symptoms of Mucormycosis or black fungus.
