Man attempts suicide, rescued from river

River Police Friday rescued a man from Srinagar who allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into the river Jehlum near Abdullah Bridge.

An official told a local news agency, Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that a man identified as Rashid Yousuf Dar son of Mohd Yousuf Dar a resident of Indira Nagar Sonawar jumped into the river but was immediately rescued by River Police present at Pirzo.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KDC)
