Police on Saturday said that based on the specific information they were able to recover3 AK-47 rifles, and other ammunition near the Jabdi post on LoC in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara.
Police told the media that these arms and ammunition would have been smuggled to the militant ranks and they foiled this attempt.
According to the KNT news agency quoting police officials, the Police said that Army and Kupwara Police thwarted an attempt by militants to smuggle weapons from Forward Post in Jabdi Tangdhar Sector of Kupwara.
A police official told KNT that during the search operation at the forward post arms and ammunition were recovered which included 3 AK-47 rifles, 6 magazines and 4 pistols.
He said that the search operation is still in progress.
