Recently Lt. Governor visited DRDO’s 500-bedded under-construction Covid Hospital at Khonmoh in Kashmir. He reviewed progress directed for completion of the Hospital by 5th June for the trial run of all facilities so that people of Kashmir valley get a huge relief that if the cases show a spike they have a hospital available with such a huge number of beds.
He also directed his officials to prepare a 25-bedded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the facility with a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, so that the children are also taken care of.
This direction of Manoj Sinha has come in the wake of media reports that in the third wave of the pandemic children would be hit by the corona virus and the government of Jammu and Kashmir is taking into consideration all such aspects in case there is a third wave of pandemic.
He directed his administration to have the focus on the health facilities so as to ensure high quality of care with sincere effort, rapid and efficient interventions; integrating emergency response of healthcare services at the Hospital to fight Covid-19 pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir.
