The government of Jammu and Kashmir in the recent past has been trying to push many developmental projects despite the pandemic and have asked the contractors and the executing agencies to meet the timelines or face the consequences.

The biggest drawback in the developmental scenario of Jammu and Kashmir has been the delay in the completion of different projects and in most of the cases in the past the authorities have not fixed the responsibility with the result leading to not only the loss of money but also the loss of time.

Recently Divisional Commissioner Jammu while inspecting many developmental works in Jammu region has asked the different executive agencies not to miss the deadlines so that the projects are completed within the timeline.

He reprimanded NHIDCL for failing to deliver on the milestones; Penalty clauses to be invoked on the contractors as during an on spot assessment he found that there has been very slow progress of work on the Jammu-Akhnoor Road widening Project.

According to the media reports he took a round of the entire stretch from Bhagwati Nagar to Akhnoor and inspected the work progress on all the packages at several sites including Patel Nagar, Paloura, Muthi, Domana, Mishriwala, Bhaterra and Akhnoor. By this tour of the area he has conveyed a message that the government is going to be tough with the delay of the work and by visiting so many areas he has also asked for the review of the work periodically from different wings.
