Union territory of Ladakh reported 55 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the infection tally in the region to 19,385, officials said to the media.
Officials told media that the UT has recorded a total of 195 Covid-related deaths 141 in Leh district and 54 in Kargil district.
They further said that 18,265 patients (94 percent) have recovered from the infection since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
Officials confirmed that 40 persons tested positive in Leh and 15 in Kargil and said 71 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, bringing down the number of active cases to 925.
It is in place to mention that the administration of Leh and Kargil have eased the curfew restrictions recently keeping in view the summer tourism.
In this direction they have allowed lifting of the restrictions in a phased manner allowing the hotels and restaurants also to open with only 30% of seating capacity.
