After working on war footing, the government of Jammu and Kashmir was able to complete five hundred bedded DRDO covid hospital at Khonmoh in Srinagar.

With the completion of this hospital the health care system in Kashmir valley got a big boost and it will add to the capacity and strength of the health system to treat all Covid-19 & other patients; dynamic impact assessment of various interventions done in response to the pandemic.

LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated the hospital and expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, Home Minister & Defence Minister for their interventions in augmenting healthcare facilities across J&K.

DRDO hospital at Khonmoh is housing all the requisite modern facilities, having capacity for 125 ICU beds, with 25 beds reserved for children, 375 beds with 24-hour oxygen connectivity.

Already, due to the testing even at the village level, most of the covid positive patients are being treated and the government by managing covid care centers at the panchayat levels has really saved the covid care hospitals from any undue rush.

The five hundred bedded hospital at Khonmoh will be a real boost to the health care system in entire Kashmir and will also be an asset for the government in case of any other epidemic or any other infection which will affect a large chunk of population in future.
