Three players, eight officials of Pakistan squad clear Covid test

LAHORE: All three cricketers and eight officials of Pakistan team cleared Covid-19 tests and now they will gather at a local hotel here on June 20 for further testing proceedings before flying to Abu Dhabi on June 25 to join the entire squad to embark on the tour of England the same day.

The three cricketers tested negative are Haris Sohail, Saud Shakil and Abdullah Shafique.

After arriving in the hotel, they will again appear for back-to-back Covid-19 tests and only leave for Abu Dhabi only after testing negative. Pakistan team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, bowling coach Waqar Younis and batting coach Younis Khan are currently in Lahore.

Chief selector Mohammad Wasim announced a big squad of all three formats for Pakistan’s back-to-back tours of England and West Indies on June 3. Majority of the payers who are part of three squads are currently in Abu Dhabi featuring in the remaining games of HBL PSL 6.

After the final of the PSL, scheduled for June 24, the selected players of the all formats will leave for England.
