The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is going to hold its crucial meeting to take the final call on the invitation of the Prime Minister to New Delhi on June 24.

People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is an alliance of six mainstream political parties with an agenda for the restoration of article 370 and the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

So far all the leaders of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) have shown willingness to go for talks with the PM to put their point of view before him rather than shying away from the process.

The alliance is going to take a united stand for the meeting with the Prime Minister and Mehbooba Mufti has shown any indication whether she will go or not as she is also invited as the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Another senior leader and former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is also invited and the recent media reports have suggested that he has been instrumental in this change of stand by the Narendra Modi government regarding Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier Azad has also advised the J&K mainstream political parties especially National Conference not to boycott the meetings of delimitation commission.

The commission has in the recent past asked all the deputy commissioners of all the 22 districts to send them the data regarding the population topography etc. before they go ahead with their work for the re-organization of many assembly and parliamentary segments in Jammu and Kashmir.
