There is a lot of scope for the improvement in the power distribution system in entire Jammu and Kashmir especially in Kashmir valley as there are huge losses reported during the distribution system.

In order to prepare for the winters in Kashmir valley, LG Manoj Sinha during a review meeting of the power development department has asked the engineers to prepare for the winters in Kashmir valley and the preparations should start from 20th July during the current month.

In order to provide all the population the electric supply JK government has recently taken initiatives so that they can reach out to even remote and inaccessible areas with electricity.

In the recent review meeting Manoj Sinha has directed for real time monitoring of power consumption; deployment of competent manpower; establishing a comprehensive plan for high power consumption cities & towns.

In order to provide the electricity to other sources, the government has laid special emphasis on the solar power plants and is trying to install more such plants in Jammu and Kashmir. Recently in the review meeting of the power development department LG has said that very soon his administration will set up6 MW Solar Power Plant to come up at Pampore.

Putting a spotlight on improvement in the power supply position in Jammu & Kashmir and to provide uninterrupted and reliable power supply to all, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha recently directed the Power Development Department to introduce strict and innovative measures in order to meet various challenges in fulfilling energy needs of the people.
