After heat wave cloudburst in Ganderbal lead to flash floods

After the recent heat wave, heavy rains and the cloudburst in the Watlar area of Lar Ganderbal, resulted in flash floods causing damage to many structures including houses and it washed away some small inner roads in the villages.

Due to the flash floods there was panic in many villages of the Watlar area as the people were crying for help because the flash floods also damaged their houses.

Reports said that the speed of the water after the cloudburst inflicted damage to many residential houses and people living in them had a narrow escape.

According to the KNO, while reporting about the cloudburst in the Watlar village has said that there was no report of any loss of life in the incident of damage to the houses.

An official said that due to the cloudburst flow of water increased in Charnari Nallah, which caused damage to nearby residential areas.

The official said that rescue teams were immediately pressed into service to restore road connectivity to the area.

Meanwhile, a revenue official said that they have sent teams to the area to ascertain the details of damage caused by flash floods.

He, however, said that the situation was under control as of now, while there was no loss of life reported in the incident.
