Jammu and Kashmir has a lot of potential to increase production in agriculture & horticulture sectors and the recent horticulture week organized by the Jammu and Kashmir government is a step towards this goal.

LG Manoj Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir aspires to be a leading region in agriculture & horticulture production in the country.

Credit for J&K being amongst top 5 performers in ‘One District One Product’ campaign goes to our hardworking farmers & officials and it has been appreciated by the LG during the horticulture week.

Focus on creating multiple supply chains, encourage horticulture in semi-urban areas are some of the goals and targets of the Jammu and Kashmir administration for the farmers.

1.20 crore  plants of Aloe Vera & 42 lakh of strawberry to be planted; 67,500 plants of Olive in Ramban & Doda covering 270 Hectares are some of the plans of the JK administration to bring some new blood into the horticulture sector.

The government has also decided to set up Mega Horticulture Nursery for high-density plantations coming up at Chakroi.

700 power tillers, 180 tractors, 34 Farm Machinery Banks, 100 Tractor Driven Equipments to be provided to farmers is the promise of the Jammu and Kashmir administration during the horticulture week.
