DC Doda discusses Eid-ul Adha arrangements with religious heads, traders unions

DODA, JULY 16:   Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today discussed the arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha  here at a joint meeting of departments and representatives of religious organizations and traders unions.

  Seerat Committee members, president Beopar Mandal, representatives of mutton and chicken seller Union, Officers and other stakeholders attended the meeting held in Conference Hall of DC office.

Threadbare discussion was held regarding arrangements to be put in place by the concerned departments including availability of essentials, Transport arrangements and cleanliness.

The DC exhorted upon the officers of essential services departments to take measures for providing uninterrupted power and drinking water supply and availability of essential commodities in the market on the reasonable prices.

He instructed the Executive Officer of Municipal Council to start cleanliness, sanitation drives  around Masjids, streets, besides ensure proper functioning of street lights in the town.

Emergency Services Department was asked to keep Fire tenders ready at vulnerable places especially in the town to deal with any eventuality. Further, directions were issued to constitute more teams to intensify market checking to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding and Black marketing.

The Officers of Municipal Committee, CAPD, Legal Metrology, Food and Drug control and Police Departments to ensure that products are sold strictly in accordance to the notified rates.

Moreover the DC informed the stakeholders that rates will be re-examined and justified rates will be notified. He asked the concerned to give wide publicity to the rates notified for general information of the public.

The DC also directed the regulating authorities to enforce traffic decongestion plan to avoid traffic jamming in the market places during the Eid days.

The members of Seerat Committee and other representatives of different unions present in the meeting assured to cooperate in motivating the public for adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols, including wearing of masks, avoiding gatherings especially in and around the Masjids and market places besides, maintaining Social distance and  hand hygiene  in letter and spirit.

The meeting was attended by SSP, ADC, ASP, ACR, CMO, President MC Doda.
